Don & Ursula in Colville 10.19.11

Have you ever had those friends where you just click with, that it feels as if you've known them for so long even if you've just gotten to know them, that you feel perfectly comfortable with in a quiet room? That is exactly how it felt to spend the past few days with Don & Ursula.

Ursula, Don, Michael, & Rene - Wonderful friends!

I have been lucky enough to work with Don in Ketchikan over the past couple years, not to mention the numerous fishing trips he's taken me on. Together, we are the top Captain & Narrator but more than that, we've been able to get to know one another and are great friends. Laughing a lot, trading good wine, and fishing for salmon & halibut are the weekly musts during the season and I can't imagine being up there without him. Here's hoping I don't have to find out!

I had only met Ursula a handful of times but instantly felt like we had known each other forever as we chatted away. Ursula is an incredible masseuse with a very successful business in Colville and does not normally come to Ketchikan during the summer. In fact, during our visit, both Michael and I were thrilled to receive a massage from her. Oh, I could easily become a massage whore!! :-)

We spent the past few days doing lots! We drove into Spokane for dinner, checked out the whole town of Colville, had lovely meals (and wine!), sat out by the fire, watched for turkeys & deer in the backyard, chatted, and all of the things that friends do. We even introduced them both to Geocaching! But most of all, we had a ton of fun & enjoyed spending time with both of them.

As Don said, it felt like being with family. And we miss them both already. Though we're looking forward to seeing them again soon!

On to see Michael's Grandma in Cheney tomorrow...
More to follow,
Rene
